Who is responsible
PMB (also referred to as PMB Documents) is provided by Mohammad Jabbari, an independent developer based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (“PMB”, “we”, “us”). This policy describes the PMB iOS app and this PMB website. For privacy questions or requests, contact apps.jabbari@gmail.com.
We are responsible for personal information we handle to provide support and operate this website and app. Apple, Google, websites you visit, and storage or sharing services you choose may also process information under their own policies. This policy does not govern those independent services.
The short version
Your PMB file library is primarily stored and processed on your device. The app does not provide a developer-operated cloud file library or automatically upload the contents of your library to us. You do not need to create a PMB account to use the core app.
This does not mean that no information ever leaves your device. Browsing, downloads, sharing, Wi-Fi transfers, purchases, consent services, advertising when enabled, and contacting support involve the recipients described below. Apple or a storage provider may separately back up or sync eligible files according to your settings.
Files and on-device processing
- Files and media: PMB reads files and metadata you import or make available, including names, types, sizes, dates, thumbnails and media tags, to organize, preview, search and play content.
- Scanner: camera captures and images you choose are processed on your device for cropping, perspective correction, image adjustments and PDF/image export. Scan edits create new output files.
- Storage Cleaner: PMB examines the PMB library, the Photos items you permit, or a folder you explicitly select. It uses metadata, thumbnails and file/image comparisons to present cleanup candidates. You choose and confirm removals. It cannot inspect other apps’ private containers.
- Music: playlists, favorites, playback history and library references are stored locally. With permission, PMB reads supported entries in your device Music library; it does not copy or export protected Music-library tracks.
- Preferences: settings, purchase entitlement information, feature allowances, earned rewards and consent-related choices may be retained to provide the app and remember your selections.
Permissions are tied to features
The app requests system access when needed for features: Camera for document and QR scanning; Photos for selected imports or permitted cleanup analysis; Media Library for device music; Local Network for Wi-Fi transfers; and Face ID or other device-owner authentication for Safe Box. File pickers grant access to files or folders you choose.
You can change permissions in iOS Settings. Refusing a permission may prevent the related feature from working, but does not require you to allow unrelated access. Authentication is handled by iOS. PMB does not receive your face or fingerprint template or your device passcode.
Safe Box and backups
Safe Box stores private copies in app-private storage outside PMB’s public Documents folder and ordinary library listings. Access is gated by device authentication, and the session locks when the app enters the background. It uses standard iOS file protection; PMB does not add its own encryption to new Safe Box files or filenames.
Importing or copying to Safe Box leaves the original source copy in place. Exporting creates a copy outside Safe Box. Safe Box content is excluded from backups. Keep a separate copy of anything irreplaceable. Uninstalling the app, device loss, device reset or storage failure can make local content unavailable. Temporary private previews are cleared as the app locks; no security mechanism can guarantee protection in every circumstance.
Browsing, downloads, QR and local transfer
Websites and download servers receive requests you initiate, which normally include your IP address and browser/device information. They may set cookies or process data you enter under their own policies. Search terms entered in the browser may be sent to the configured search provider. Bookmarks, history and normal browsing data may be stored on-device. Private mode limits local browsing persistence; it does not make you anonymous to websites, your network or your internet provider. Files you download or explicitly save can remain after a private session.
QR recognition uses the camera. When you choose to open a detected link, the destination receives an ordinary network request.
Wi-Fi Transfer runs a local HTTP server when you start it. A computer with the access details can access the selected shared-folder functions. This exchanges files directly over your local network, not through a PMB cloud server. Local HTTP is not transport-encrypted. Use a trusted network, protect the access code, and stop the server when finished. The server stops when PMB enters the background.
When you share or export a file, the recipient or selected app receives that content. PMB cannot control their subsequent use.
Advertising, consent and tracking choices
The app integrates Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP). Advertising availability depends on the app version, region, configuration and consent choices. The free experience may include a labeled banner and optional rewarded ads. Premium suppresses ad placements. Consent-related requests may still be made to determine applicable choices or requirements.
When advertising services are active, Google and applicable advertising partners may receive IP addresses (which can indicate approximate location), device or app identifiers, ad interactions, diagnostic/crash and performance information. This supports ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention and service operation. Identifier availability and personalization depend on consent and system settings. PMB does not intentionally send your file contents, scans or Safe Box contents to the ad service.
Where required, consent choices are presented before eligible ad requests. You may revisit available Ad Privacy Choices in PMB Settings and manage tracking permission in iOS Settings. Declining tracking does not prevent core app use. Some ads may still be served without personalized tracking where permitted. Rewarded ads are optional; the app states the specific reward before you choose to watch.
Read Google’s Privacy Policy, how Google uses information from partner apps, and Google’s iOS SDK data disclosures. Partner and platform processing can occur outside your country.
Purchases and support
Apple processes purchases and payments. PMB uses StoreKit transaction and entitlement information to provide Premium, restore eligible purchases and verify access. We do not receive your full payment card details from Apple. Apple retains its own transaction records under Apple’s Privacy Policy.
If you contact support, we receive the email address, message and attachments you choose to send. The app’s support composer may include editable app version, device model, iOS version and language details to help diagnose an issue. It does not automatically attach your library, private files or a unique device identifier. You review and send the message. Email is processed through the support mailbox provider, Google. Do not send passwords, access codes or unnecessary sensitive material.
This website
The PMB website is hosted through HostGator. Requests may generate hosting and security logs containing IP address, request time, requested page, browser information and related technical data. These are used to deliver and protect the website and investigate errors or abuse.
The supplied PMB pages do not include analytics pixels, advertising scripts, embedded social widgets, third-party fonts, account registration or a contact form, and do not intentionally set tracking cookies or browser-storage identifiers. Hosting or security services may separately process technical data. External links, including the App Store and email links, take you to services with their own policies.
Purposes and legal grounds
We process information as needed to provide features you request, respond to support, verify purchases, maintain security, prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations. Where consent is legally required, we rely on your consent and provide applicable withdrawal choices. Where applicable law permits, we may rely on performance of our agreement with you, compliance with law, or a legitimate interest in operating and securing the service, subject to your rights.
We do not sell your file library or use its contents to build advertising profiles. Advertising providers’ identifier-based processing may be treated as sharing or targeted advertising under some laws; the applicable consent and privacy controls govern that processing.
Retention, recipients and security
Local content remains until you remove it, a relevant retention feature clears it, or app/device storage is removed. Recently Deleted items require the applicable recovery or permanent-deletion action. Clearing download history does not delete the downloaded files. Copies you exported, backups and third-party records are managed separately.
We retain support correspondence only as reasonably needed to respond, maintain a necessary support record, resolve disputes or meet legal duties. Hosting, Apple, Google and recipients you choose apply their own retention practices. We do not promise a single deletion period for records those independent providers control.
Information may be disclosed to service providers needed for the purposes above, when legally required, to protect rights and security, or in a lawful business transfer with appropriate notice and safeguards. Providers may process information in countries with different privacy laws; required protections will apply where relevant. We use reasonable safeguards, but no device, network or storage method is completely secure.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access or obtain a copy of personal information, correct it, request deletion, restrict or object to certain processing, receive portable data, withdraw consent, or complain to a competent data protection authority. Contact apps.jabbari@gmail.com. We may need proportionate information to verify a request and will respond within the period required by applicable law. Legal exceptions may apply.
We cannot remotely retrieve or erase files that remain only on your device. Manage those through PMB or iOS, and manage independent-provider data through that provider. Withdrawing consent does not undo lawful processing before withdrawal. Where applicable, you may exercise privacy rights without unlawful discrimination.
Children and policy changes
PMB is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children under 13 or any higher age requiring parental consent under applicable law. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through support or the website without legally required consent. If you believe a child has provided such information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the app, services or law. The updated date appears above. Material changes will receive additional notice or consent when legally required. Questions can always be sent to apps.jabbari@gmail.com.
